Thank you all for your kind wishes concerning Karens's arm, that after a four hour stretch in the hospital on Tuesday we found had been fractured. She now is in a cast for 5-6 weeks, so David will have to up his game. But Calella de Palaurugell has cheered her up no end, we have had a small series of minor disasters lately, more of them later but in the meantime a big thank … [Read more...] about On the beach to recovery
Motorhome life can be dangerous you know.
After meeting friends and exploring Barcelona for a few days, we moved on the north of the city to another ASCI campsite. This is much better than the one near the airport we stayed at. But danger lurks even in the loveliest places. As David was parking the van under Karens's expert guidance. Suddenly a shriek and she disappeared from view in what is left of our mirror. … [Read more...] about Motorhome life can be dangerous you know.
Barcelona and Wing Mirror update!
We have zigzagged our way down to Barcelona having visited the Peugeot dealer in Lleida three times to get the wing mirror replaced. All to no avail as Right hand drive connections are different and our wing mirror must be sourced in the UK or Ireland. Cost to be delivered by Peugeot UK to here €620 plus fitting! Smack, ouch that hurt. The mirror is shattered.
Driving down the narrow roads of the Pyrenees sometimes you get very close to the drivers on the other side of the road. Today too close after a gentle wave at an oncoming Motorhome 'Smack' we come into contact. Two wing mirrors all over the place. Our lovely protectors were not able to take the strain and we now are off hunting a replacement. Peugeot's website not … [Read more...] about Smack, ouch that hurt. The mirror is shattered.

We have been lucky over the past month to have some of our friends visit while we moved across the north of Spain from Galicia in the northwest to Basque country in the northeast. Now back on our own for while we are heading across Spain along the Pyrenees to Barcelona. NiKi our most lovely home has performed amazingly. In up to 42 degrees, covering some very rough … [Read more...] about 10,000 miles and 100 stops and still rolling.
A tale of two services.
When started our trip we were complete novices and soon realised that motorhome people really do help each other out. We are so grateful to the many people that gave their time and advice to get us off on the road safely. Lately we have had the opportunity to help out others, one couple had rented a motorhome from Mac Rent and could not switch the fridge to gas. The … [Read more...] about A tale of two services.
Oops, and that’s broken it, plus another and another, three in a week!
Your intrepid travellers managed to make six months without having anything really fall apart or breaking anything. But all good things come to an end, and a small series of items have broken in quick succession. Our first little disaster was windblown, in that the door blew back into the fly screen and the catch on the bottom shattered. So though the fly screen still works … [Read more...] about Oops, and that’s broken it, plus another and another, three in a week!
Fishie Fish
Mon 11/7/16: A lovely clear and bright start to the day, but not sure the same can be said for our neighbours across the estuary from us-Portugal, as they were celebrating well into the night with gun salutes and fireworks well into the early hours and good on them as well. So with the sun shining we jumped on our bikes and cycled up Monte de Santa Trega. Not an easy cycle and … [Read more...] about Fishie Fish
