Blogday Sunday and it’s hammering it down, along with thunder and lightning as well as we sit in Buster on the coast at Finale Ligure. We have been here before, the previous time staying on the campsite up the road, not spotting this €10 aire until too late. So, obviously this time we knew where to head, and given the time of year (later in the season) we hoped it would be … [Read more...] about Bonjour to Buongiorno
A long long time ago, I paid my first and only visit to Provence and it really stuck in my memory and now 30 years late in ‘Buster’, our beloved Elddis Encore 250 we have returned, to see if I can share the love of the area with Karen. You may have noticed that we got off to a good start from Karen’s Blog last week. She left us last week in St Remy de Province, a truly … [Read more...] about Encore-en-Provence
In fact, its two Pont de view’s- Pont de Gard and Pont d’Avignon and both are equally stunning in their own way, with us loving and enjoying both places. The campsite at Pont de Gard- La Sousta was a 4* star site and it was worthy of that star. However, whilst in the Camargue we stayed on another 4* site and it wasn’t entirely, in our opinions worthy of that rating. Of … [Read more...] about It’s a Pont de View
After a relatively quiet week last week in Switzerland, this has been a positively whirlwind run through France this week. We departed Les Rousses and headed south towards Lyon. and after a few hours stopped at a small vineyard, it was in Park4Night, but there was no one home when we arrived so we sort of just parked up on a pitch. It turns out it was a France Passion … [Read more...] about Belle France?? Masque Obligatoire!
Sunday morning rose, bring with it a great view of Lake Geneva and Mont Blanc, the sun shining brightly over the many vineyards in the area. We had arrived at Steve and Sinead’s the night before and of course the wine had flowed, along with a real treat for me- a couple of glasses of port. If I loved them before I loved them even more when they produced the bottle of my … [Read more...] about A Swiss Delight.
It has all been a bit odd over the past week, we have moseyed around the north of Italy, Piedmont to be precise, and it added to the food and wine heaven that is Italy. Our plan was, to head back up to Champagne to meet up with Karen’s brother and celebrate his 70th birthday. This would have retraced our journey to the very start of what was to be a Champagne to Caviar trip. … [Read more...] about Arrivederci Italia, and Covid changes things again!
Business to business, in previous working life speech, or for us in now in MH world, Bra to Barolo. Well actually it was C 2 B, as we left the coast of Finale Ligure (all sets of keys firmly intact and hanging where they should) as we headed off on the Monday in thunder, lightning and heavy rain for an inland town called Cuneo. Why, you might ask, but for us it was why not. We … [Read more...] about B 2 B
On our previous Motorhome adventure in 2017 we did not get on with Italy, I don’t really know why, perhaps it was so early in the year or that in the south it seemed everyone wanted to rip you off. Or just maybe we had fallen in love with Spain and Italy was not in the running. Here we are, in 2020 a new normal and Italy is fantastic! So what has changed? As you know we … [Read more...] about Viva Italia!
What a week, after just over 10 weeks completely stationery at Sundance Camp in Turkey and then a short sprint in the outside world of Turkey, with a two week ‘just to be sure’ stay in a lovely apartment in Gulluk we have done 1,500 km in the five days. Buster hasn’t known what has hit him, but nevertheless responded as usual very well, requiring his little health kick cocktail … [Read more...] about Turkxit!
