After a break for Christmas where we were able to visit friends along the Andalusian coast, we are back in Zahora in the area of Cadiz and this is where we will stay for the time being. We can only count ourselves lucky as our new revised lockdown is not as onerous as many other countries. We can still go out and enjoy a meal up until 6.00pm and curfew they would want to start … [Read more...] about Hotel Cadizfornia

New Year New hope.
Well that was an interesting year, when we started 2020 life seemed so simple, we were getting ready for what we thought would be a fairly different adventure, by driving to Azerbaijan in our lovely Elddis Encore 250 motorhome. There would be some challenges but all in all an exceedingly long drive across new countries meeting lovely people, what possibly could go … [Read more...] about New Year New hope.
Reasons to be Tierful 1,2,3….4…..
Driving Home for Christmas was our last blog, before we did indeed head home for this celebration. We would at this point like to say that it all went smoothly, but given that we are now writing a blog in Spain sat on our respective sofa’s in Buster, then you will have worked out that it never actually went quite as we expected, but to be fair what did over those few days … [Read more...] about Reasons to be Tierful 1,2,3….4…..
Driving Home for Christmas
We have been on the Costa del Luz now for 7 weeks, still in semi lockdown and are officially unable to move around. Though we have seen many vans heading up and down the coast regardless, we will be setting off later this week heading for Gibraltar to fly back to the UK for Christmas. It is amazing just how many hoops there are involved if you want to do this right! Anyway, … [Read more...] about Driving Home for Christmas
Who Turned the Sun Out?
Not us for sure, but here in the lovely area of Zahora, the sun has definitely gone out since Wednesday- with heavy, heavy rain and very strong winds, during the day and night. But as is often the saying – we do need it. Personally, I don’t, as it makes our few occupations of walking and cycling so much harder, if not impossible, as most of this area is sand and dirt … [Read more...] about Who Turned the Sun Out?
Walking In My Shoes
Should you wish to and I wouldn’t. Having walked over the last week many miles and to be honest since we have been in Zahora, we have cycled and walked many miles and/or kilometres, whichever one you would like to use. I like to use miles for both cycling and more so walking, as although the number is less, miles seem more hardcore! Again, I wouldn’t want to walk in my shoes as … [Read more...] about Walking In My Shoes
Seven Days of David
Well that was the week that was as they say, seems like Donald is leaving the stage soon, and most of Europe is in lockdown. For us we have been keeping ourselves to ourselves here in Zahora, ‘Making Plans’ and then adjusting them to fit the latest restrictions. If 2020 has taught us anything, ‘Making Plans’ is something of a lost cause. But without a direction we are also … [Read more...] about Seven Days of David
Another Sherry Perhaps?
This week brings the end of our first full week at Pinar San Jose, Zahora and it’s been a lovely week, in it’s own simple way-which is exactly what we were hoping for. Monday brought our first proper taste (this time) of the famed retinto beef, with a lovely one rib, rib of beef. David cooked it perfectly on the BBQ and it had a wonderful depth of flavour. Unfortunately, our … [Read more...] about Another Sherry Perhaps?
The Sting
We have had a lovely couple of weeks shooting down the coast of Spain heading to the start of our first Elddis adventure back in 2016. Having had the chance to play golf twice last week this week we have been lucky enough to meet up with old friends near where I spent many childhood Easters and summer holidays, Marbella. Like everything when you look back it is all different … [Read more...] about The Sting
