Tales of the Unexpected happened twice this week. One pleasant, when we happened upon the town of Jaca and a particular restaurant as per the pictures. We had just come from a series of Spanish pretty towns in the Pyrenees so really wasn't expecting much from Jaca, a gateway town as they call it. Wrong it was lovely, a string of lovely restaurants beyond the one we ate in, … [Read more...] about Tales of the Unexpected
Advice and How to's
Smack, ouch that hurt. The mirror is shattered.
Driving down the narrow roads of the Pyrenees sometimes you get very close to the drivers on the other side of the road. Today too close after a gentle wave at an oncoming Motorhome 'Smack' we come into contact. Two wing mirrors all over the place. Our lovely protectors were not able to take the strain and we now are off hunting a replacement. Peugeot's website not … [Read more...] about Smack, ouch that hurt. The mirror is shattered.
Not a Bull in Sight
Mon 22/08/16: After a quiet Sunday night high up in the hills of Bilbao we made our way to another Unesco World heritage site- the Vizcaya Bridge at Portugalete, a transporter bridge and one of the few still operational since it’s construction in 1893. Mon 08/08/16: Up and last lot of washing on before we go on the hunt for chocolate with churros in the very bonita town of Santillana del Mar. In the south … [Read more...] about Black to Red
A tale of two services.
When started our trip we were complete novices and soon realised that motorhome people really do help each other out. We are so grateful to the many people that gave their time and advice to get us off on the road safely. Lately we have had the opportunity to help out others, one couple had rented a motorhome from Mac Rent and could not switch the fridge to gas. The … [Read more...] about A tale of two services.
Oops, and that’s broken it, plus another and another, three in a week!
Your intrepid travellers managed to make six months without having anything really fall apart or breaking anything. But all good things come to an end, and a small series of items have broken in quick succession. Our first little disaster was windblown, in that the door blew back into the fly screen and the catch on the bottom shattered. So though the fly screen still works … [Read more...] about Oops, and that’s broken it, plus another and another, three in a week!
