Mon 12/09/16: ‘We don’t like Mondays’ the song goes, but generally I have never minded them, Tuesday always being the ugh day for me. This Monday was one that I will remember certainly for the next 6 weeks while my wrist remains in plaster. Moving on from seeing friends in Barcelona we were on the hunt for a more suitable camp site near to Barcelona for the end of the month … [Read more...] about Taking a Break
Daffy Duck (con arroz)
Mon 05/09/16: After our first night sleeping with the doors open (on camp site…such was the heat) we headed early back into Llieda and to the Peugeot garage where we were to get our wing mirror fixed thankfully. Arriving at the allotted time of 11 Allia informed us that the part hadn’t arrived … [Read more...] about Daffy Duck (con arroz)
Tales of the Unexpected
Tales of the Unexpected happened twice this week. One pleasant, when we happened upon the town of Jaca and a particular restaurant as per the pictures. We had just come from a series of Spanish pretty towns in the Pyrenees so really wasn't expecting much from Jaca, a gateway town as they call it. Wrong it was lovely, a string of lovely restaurants beyond the one we ate in, … [Read more...] about Tales of the Unexpected
Not a Bull in Sight

Black to Red
Two of David’s favourite colours in the world of food. Black = black pudding. Red= red wine and we managed to cover the top Spanish of each in one week and also pay homage to one of Spain’s leading golfers, the great Seve. Mon 08/08/16: Up and last lot of washing on before we go on the hunt for chocolate with churros in the very bonita town of Santillana del Mar. In the south … [Read more...] about Black to Red
A Drop Too Many
An interesting week as we headed into the Picos de Europa mountains. We have done many a stunning drive through mountains and valleys but this was a whole different ball game. The roads were almost impossible at times and the up's and down's tested NiKi to the full and us as well. The food was all about local produce, cheese, meats etc and we did buy as much locally as we … [Read more...] about A Drop Too Many
Magic Mushroom
Mon 25/07/16: Feast Day of Santiago. So the night before lots of fireworks again in the main town. We were planning to go but somehow just didn’t make it, but we watched from a far and spectacular they were.
