What This Olde Thing
Week 6-12th March 2017 With the cultural and ruin overload of Pompeii, Herculaneum and Naples not to mention the dirt plus grime of these places some peace, quiet and space was called for and so we headed to a seaside spot by the name of Sabaudia. A dull town by LP’s description but its point of merit was being in the Parque Nazionale del Circeo-85k of sand dunes, rocky … [Read more...] about What This Olde Thing
First visit to a brothel
This week we have travelled up from the toe of Italy and have visited 6 UNESCO world heritage sites. Being in a motorhome enables you to get to these amazing places quite easily. That said parking can be a problem so you have to use public transport to get to the sites or walk. To be honest you have to be careful not to get UNESCO’ed out. So we spent the rather dull Monday food shopping but also venturing slightly further along the coast on … [Read more...] about It’s The Little Things
Sicily, our Marmite journey and on to the Mainland,

Potholes like craters on the motorways. On top of that, their driving is beyond stupid, we have been unfortunate enough to come across three accidents during the week plus at least 10 near … [Read more...] about Sicily, our Marmite journey and on to the Mainland,
Danger of not using satnav
We stopped for 4 days at Marina de Ragusa allowing us to cycle every day. The real advantage of electric bikes coming back to the fore, as the towns are on top of hills. Though we are fitter after a year on the road we still like the assistance to help us along up the hills. Our last run was to the town of Scicli, another Baroque town. The restaurants we had been … [Read more...] about Danger of not using satnav
Ouch –One big pot hole
Tarmacers Required –Applications to ‘Italy’. This is a full time position that could and will require several years of dedicated resurfacing in fact probably relaying work on the network of so called roads here in Italy. Experience is a must if only to undo the obviously previously inexperienced ‘patch-work’ done on most of the roads. Dedication, patience and … [Read more...] about Ouch –One big pot hole
From Grim to Trim, Sardinia to Sicily
Having arrived in Sardinia on a very chaotic Grim Boat we left on a well-organised Trim one, we have to recommend Tirrenia Lines. However, enough about leaving, what does Sardinia hold for the winter motorhome adventurer? Though most things are closed and getting facilities can be an issue, you can overcome this with relative ease. Now we are on a new leg of our adventure and … [Read more...] about From Grim to Trim, Sardinia to Sicily
