Not us for sure, but here in the lovely area of Zahora, the sun has definitely gone out since Wednesday- with heavy, heavy rain and very strong winds, during the day and night. But as is often the saying – we do need it. Personally, I don’t, as it makes our few occupations of walking and cycling so much harder, if not impossible, as most of this area is sand and dirt … [Read more...] about Who Turned the Sun Out?

Walking In My Shoes
Should you wish to and I wouldn’t. Having walked over the last week many miles and to be honest since we have been in Zahora, we have cycled and walked many miles and/or kilometres, whichever one you would like to use. I like to use miles for both cycling and more so walking, as although the number is less, miles seem more hardcore! Again, I wouldn’t want to walk in my shoes as … [Read more...] about Walking In My Shoes
Another Sherry Perhaps?
This week brings the end of our first full week at Pinar San Jose, Zahora and it’s been a lovely week, in it’s own simple way-which is exactly what we were hoping for. Monday brought our first proper taste (this time) of the famed retinto beef, with a lovely one rib, rib of beef. David cooked it perfectly on the BBQ and it had a wonderful depth of flavour. Unfortunately, our … [Read more...] about Another Sherry Perhaps?
The Sting
We have had a lovely couple of weeks shooting down the coast of Spain heading to the start of our first Elddis adventure back in 2016. Having had the chance to play golf twice last week this week we have been lucky enough to meet up with old friends near where I spent many childhood Easters and summer holidays, Marbella. Like everything when you look back it is all different … [Read more...] about The Sting
Golfing A-Round
And that’s what David has been fortunate enough to be able to do this week- with different sets of friends and on two different courses. This of course makes the carrying of the golfclubs all worthwhile, even if as ever they haven’t performed quite as well as they should have done. In fact, it was a week of losing with the magic sticks for David, as on the Bank Holiday … [Read more...] about Golfing A-Round
Another Bump in The Road.
Last week we had crossed back into France and stayed at St Tropez, and we had had to make some decisions on where we would feel most comfortable and safe during these strange times. The sun had returned, and we took a two-day break and had a walk about ate in and relaxed. Though Covid numbers are rising throughout Europe we wanted to be warm as well as safe, for the next … [Read more...] about Another Bump in The Road.
Grazie Mille
Thank you very much. Italy again for another wonderful trip, and showing us more of your delightful country. Thank you very much as well – to Mr Mark for putting us up in his lovely Lucca flat, while Buster had some waterworks repaired (thank you very much to Elddis as well, for sorting that out).We won’t be saying any thanks to Covid for yet again making us change our plans … [Read more...] about Grazie Mille
Italy Revisited, Portofino and Cinque Terre
It seems a lifetime ago but we left Italy in early August as the 38 degree heat defeated us, and we were scheduled to meet with Karen’s brother for his 70th so we headed for France but had skipped a few places on our bucket list. We have damaged the water tank on ‘Buster’ and Elddis have arranged for a replacement to be shipped down for us to a dealer near Lucca where we can … [Read more...] about Italy Revisited, Portofino and Cinque Terre
