What a week, after just over 10 weeks completely stationery at Sundance Camp in Turkey and then a short sprint in the outside world of Turkey, with a two week ‘just to be sure’ stay in a lovely apartment in Gulluk we have done 1,500 km in the five days. Buster hasn’t known what has hit him, but nevertheless responded as usual very well, requiring his little health kick cocktail … [Read more...] about Turkxit!

So Dammm Hot! Diesel-gate and other stories.
Our ninth week at Sundance has brought something new, heat lots and lots of heat, seemingly the hottest May days in 75 years. As I write in the shade of the bar area drinking ‘Cay’ odd that a hot drink can cool you down, it is 38 degrees in the shade. The van is like oven and to top it off though site is on the sea and we have a river flowing through it. We are not allowed into … [Read more...] about So Dammm Hot! Diesel-gate and other stories.
Now for something completely different.
When we started off in January to see parts of the world that would be new to us and go off the beaten track. Elddis had given us a brand-new Encore 250 and we were so pleased that they had improved the 2020 version on the already great one we had taken to Spain in 2016. As they say it is all the little things I will be doing a full review of the van later! Our plan was to … [Read more...] about Now for something completely different.
Volta – ring
Sunday, Sunday feels to good to me-so the song goes. Every other day of the week is fine-yeah. Every other day of the week is the same for all us at the moment and for many it’s probably beginning to take its toll, unfortunately. As I’m writing this, I’m sitting in my chair under the shade of a tree with the sea only some 10 feet away from me. The waves are gently lapping … [Read more...] about Volta – ring
Jersey Royals
Saturday saw our third week of static living at Sundance Camping and in all honesty the time has gone fairly quickly. Afternoons are often the slower part as we watch the clock until it’s a decent enough time to open a bottle of wine, but that also seems to be the tale from home as well as wine o’clock gets earlier and earlier. So the coronavirus won’t necessarily be the only … [Read more...] about Jersey Royals
April Fool
Well what a week tf has been- oddly enough quite action packed in it’s own “this is our life for now” way. Monday saw the week begin with quite nice weather. David started the day with his run along with fellow joggers continuing to give him words of encouragement and motivation, which is excellent as by the end of the week he had completed 5k and has his own personal … [Read more...] about April Fool
Shake On it!!
Golf, golf, and more golf was the plan for the week just gone but this had already been deflated by the non arrival of David’s golf buddies. But for us like them it had been paid for and at this stage the C word wasn’t too bad in Turkey, so a week in a 5 star all inclusive continued to be the plan. There was a series of activities planned in the hotel that you could take … [Read more...] about Shake On it!!
Muzzy’s Place
It’s Sunday morning (15th) and we’re sat in Muzzy’s Place having a cay (tea) with the sun trying to break through over the Greek deserted village Levissi, which provides the main tourist attraction for the small Turkish town sitting just below it-Kayakoy. We are parked in Muzzy’s car park of his small hotel and restaurant complex which looks right up to the ruins, so we … [Read more...] about Muzzy’s Place
BUSTed!!
Since February it has been carnival season in Greece and they have celebrated it in a variety of ways, according to the local region. A lot involve the children dressing up in whatever fairy or scary costumes they choose and there also seem to have been a lot of scary clown masks and decorations going on as well. Monday here was their first day of Lent and it’s called Clean … [Read more...] about BUSTed!!
